My motor has GT3 RSR heads and valves sizing. It is also ported with ceramic coated combustion chambers and exhaust ports. It has GT3 cam housing and custom profiled billet GT3 cams. It's been awhile now, but didn't Todd get the cams for your motor from me?

Besides different lift and duration on 996tt vs GT3 cams, the GT3 has a different number of cam pointers than the 996tt. This is what communicates with the ECU. They are really a different animal, especially with the vario cam on the 996tt.

so when swapping over to the RSR heads is there any part that is usable from stock heads? because they use a different tappet right? different cams? different Valves?

how much flow difference is there between the two because the info i gather doesn't seem to make it worth the $ unless your building a monster like yours Cjv

GT3 cams are not really the best cams for a turbo motor. They were designed for a NA motor and the lift and duration is not ideal.
Thanks Chad

What about 997tt head/cams vs gt3rs heads/cam??? in 997tt engine!!

Any experience??

No part is interchangeable. Actually, the valve stem length is different among the GT3 Street, Cup and RSR. It can be different among Cup hydraulic and solid lifters. The GT3 Street heads have provisions for smog. The Cup and RSR do not. The cams are different. The valve with is different from the GT3 Street to the Cup to the RSR. Bare in mind the 996tt heads can be ported and valves enlarged to the GT3 sizes. It just can't accept the larger lift intake cam. That along with the different pointers on the cams.

There can be a hugh difference. My heads flow 360 cfm @ 25 inches.

No experience, however from what I understand the new 997tt's use a different "Japanese" motor while Porsche uses the one we are use to for the 997 GT3 as well as the Cup and RSR.
