I made the drive back from Dallas to Austin tonight. I got caught in a thunderstorm, so I don't have to worry about getting it wet anymore.

Phenomenal car. Surprised at how comfortable it was over that distance.

I'm hooked. I hope to own and enjoy this car forever!

I have the unwanted envy of my neighbors. A bit uncomfortable to be honest.

My boys (i have 3 sons; 4, 7 & 9) LOVE it. Their enthusiasm is very infectious. They shout, "faster, faster!" They don't comprehend our traffic laws. Took it for a quick spin after dinner near Lake Travis (The Oasis) and they screamed like they were on a roller coaster.

My God, I had no idea what I was missing. Why did it take me so long? It's a wasted life without a turbo in it.

Congrats on the purchase! I bought my first Porsche, a 996 C4S from Park Place. I wished I had known sooner you were going to be there, I would have dropped by and convinced you on exhaust and ECU flash!

congrats .... they don't come any cleaner than that. if you're thinking of modifying it --- i would drive the car to houston and let akram at motorwerks look at it. working on these cars is his passion and it shows. these are the things that i would be inclined do at this point.

1. put on some coilovers and lower it.
2. get new wheels
3. get a 997 ssk put in
4. iwire ipod kit.

i wouldn't reflash or change the exhaust or change the turbos or even look at the engine bay till you put 5k more miles on the car and think that you need more performance.

Easycare has been pretty solid even though the drivetrain in stock-ish trim is bullet proof.

You got the best year and color too! Although I may be a bit biased. If you seriously don't want to mod then never visit this site again. It would be like going cold turkey. I seriously would just enjoy your car. The only thing you may consider is the Porsche SSK. The stock shifter has a very long and somewhat rubbery throw but if you're OK with it than leave it as is. If after a year you want to mod then go ahead but enjoy your power and car for now. Congratulations on your Porsche, she's a beauty.
