Hello everyone, I am looking for my first P-car. I would love anyones opinion of the following:

http://www.momentumporsche.com/certi...be040c0232.htm

It is cpo. It does have a few cosmetic flaws including some paintwork in the back fender the dealer says is from scratches. Clean car fax. It is x50 which had me excited! 50k for 03 tt with 47k miles.

I would love some opinions. Btw sorry for double post, didn't see turbo forum

Price is on the high side, I would make an offer at 40k if it checks out, then settle somewhere around 44k give or take 1k.

contact member frankster about his recent momentum porsche purchase he can tell you about the kind of business they run.
(his CPO car had 2nd gear pop out, brakes beyond Porsche standards needed new rotors, had a cut in one of the cv axle boots, and tires under the wear indicators but it was facotry Certified!)

if you need a proper PPI up the road about 8miles is Motorwerks and Akram is the Porsche Guru in those parts.

And you would walk home if that was my car. Be realistic already.

$40k??!!! haha, you are funny. These cars have bounced back up in price from last year. The last year and a half was the time to take advantage.

$49K is a pretty good deal for that package and mileage. I'd check it out for sure.

Great info, thx. I would definitely get ppi so thx for the reference. What kind of condition should I expect given it is 7 years old? There are deep scratches by the door handles and again some marginal paintwork rear quarter.

Looks pretty nice to me! I don't really care for those Pink Seatbelt's but that is just me.... I hear those 2003 TT's are the best!!!

Curious what makes you say that? I had an '01 TT and now own a '03 TT. I thought it was just me, but the fit and finish seem to be a lot better on my '03 than my previous one as well.

Just my take

I went from an 01 to an 03 and all the rattles and quirks were left behind... I am sure there isn't any difference but I suspect my opinion has to do more with owning an 03 rather than any actual facts

I hear yah there.. could be experiencing the same thing But the interior does look better.. maybe its the upgraded interior package. My old one didn't have seat warmers or a glove box. This one does.. just seems.... nicer.

Seems like a fair price to me if the car checks out and you can live with the cosmetic issues.

Price seems to be in the ball park. If you can live with the scratches then go for it or maybe try and factor that into talking them down a couple thousand. Just make sure you get a PPI. Can't trust the dealers. Good luck

I wouldn't necessarily focus on the X50 option as a driving factor to get this or any other TT. With a few relatively minor mods to a standard turbo, you can easily get performance an par with the X50.

Just my $.02

Funny...

My impression of an 01 vs. and 03 is the exact opposite. I think the materials used in my 01 996TT seem to be of a higher quality than newer 02 and 03 996TT's that i've road in. Seems to me that manufacturers find cheaper ways of doing things as time goes on.

Maybe it's because mine has full carbon and full leather where the other cars did not. Also, my 01 is super tight but it's also a nice weather only non-track garage queen.

Wouldn't you say that maybe the reason that your 03 is nicer than that 01 is that is a less driven car mileage and condition wise?
