guys.... I just came from a track event where a non forged wheel came apart on track.
Its a good thing it did not happen when on the straight at 140 mph.
ALMS or Rolex does not run pressure cast wheels.... Forged is the safest
way to go aqt speed on track..... your call I know price is good but then
look at what you spent on the car up to this point.....
I just dont want to see anyone get hurt.....

I have been SCCA racing for over 15 years, Datsun 240Z, and Mazda RX-7's. I have never bought a forged wheel, have never broken, cracked or even bent a wheel. And that includes hitting the burms in corners, running off the road, spinning, and flipping a car at the bridge at Lime Rock. "Good Quality" cast wheels are acceptable for most situations.

KB you have been lucky... nothing personal but again a non forged wheel is not to be used on the track - poor quality thats why you can buy 8 wheels for the price of 4 good quality forged wheels...

Here's a question for you. How many factory cars come with forged wheels? And of those cars, how many have you seen on the track? And of those cars you've seen on the track, how many have you seen with wheel failures? Not bickering...just curious.

I don't know about these wheels ,but I think that lumping all non-forged wheels into the "they are gonna come apart" catagory is probably not the best way to analyse what the best wheel option is. Not all forged and non-forged wheels are made the same. Not all forged and non-forged wheels are as good as others either. I think there is alot more to look at when buying a particular wheel other than if it is forged or not. A non-forged wheel doesn't just come apart either. Something caused it other than spinning. If the wheel was cracked or damaged previously it could have caused it.

While I respect your concern for safety, I think the scare tactic of "don't track non-forged wheels, they come apart" is like saying "don't cross the street, you will get hit by a car". Their are more things to be cautious about on the matters of wheel selection.

The wheels look great! Let's see a few photos of them on your ride! Thank you for your order - you've been a great customer to work with!

I've had both on the track with my M3.

As long as the wheels are a good quality cast wheel (low pressure, HLT, MAT, and Flow Forming) and have good load rating results, you should be fine to run them on the track.

The Avant Garde Ruger Line are all made using a low-pressure cast method and are rated at over 1600 lbs per corner - far beyond the JWL and VIA standards.

Not trying to be rude, but the WTCC Series uses ADVAN Racing Wheels for their grueling Touring Car series that's considered to be one of the best wheel-to-wheel race series in the world.

It's not that cast wheels are superior to forged wheels. It's just that casting technology has come a long way since the old days. Cast wheels like the ADVAN Racing and the Forgestar Wheels that we carry are rated at similar load ratings as a forged wheel.

The benefit though.....is that cast wheels are much cheaper than forged!

Larr, I ordered the 18" wheels and am waiting to get them (custom order)

They are about 20lbs savings on unsprung wt. compared to stock. Very good price, good company, I will let you check them out when I get them. Scott
