Got the Avant Garde Wheels!! - ModBargains rocks

Update: here is a picture of the wheels on my car

I've been searching for wheels for my 996 Turbo for about a year now, and I've finally pulled the trigger.

Anyone who owns a Porsche knows how expensive wheels are for our cars, and it's not an easy purchase decision with so many factors to consider. Especially the PRICE!! Well, worry no more. A few options have just arrived for us!!

I had many unanswered questions ...and now they have all been answered with the help of Eddie at ModBargains.com. He has been working with me over the past three days to help me find the perfect wheel for my Porsche. Yes, three days. I'm a picky customer, and not once did he grumble at my plethora of questions and concerns over the daunting task of finding me some new shoes for my P car. So anyway, I just wanted share my experience and give a quick thank you to all the guys at modbargain for being so patient with me. I can be pain in the butt. Great customer service guys. Keep up the good work. Will definitely do business with you folks again. See below for the wheels I went with.

Joe in Atlanta

So the wheel I've decided to go with is ...

http://www.modbargains.com/Avant-Gar...els-Porche.htm

Avant Garde 310 Mesh Wheels (Hyper Silver)
Front Wheels: 19.8.5 ET45
Rear Wheels: 19x11 ET40
Front Tires: 235/35/19
Rear Tires: 315/25/19

...and here are the specs of the factory wheels for comparison

Factory Wheels (Turbo Twists)
Front Wheels: 45.7 x 20.3 cm / 18.0 x 8.0 in
Rear Wheels: 45.7 x 27.9 cm / 18.0 x 11.0 in
Front Tires: 225/40ZR18
Rear Tires: 295/30ZR18

Some questions I had during my hunt for the perfect wheel and my answers.

Does the wheel design aesthetically fit my model and year?
For a white or silver car, this wheel is very classy, and updates the look of the 996 Turbo significantly.

If I decided to sell the car, would people pass on the car with this wheel on it? I feel this wheel is right at home on any Porsche, as it looks like a wheel Porsche would put on it right out of the factory.

Is it within my budget?

Yes!! My jaw dropped when he quoted me on this wheel/tire package.
I'm still floating at how much less these things cost compared to similar wheels.

Fit and Finish
Coming soon...with photos
...stay tuned.

New Wheels

Yes, your selected wheels will look great on your 996TT. I will just say there is a reason some of the other wheels are much more expensive. I would hope you do not plan to track your car with these wheels. I have seen aftermarket wheels come apart, crack, etc under heavy strain. Fikse, BBS, Kenisis and HRE have proven their worth on the track, so you may want to consider how you use the car with the new wheels. I am sure if you simply drive on the street, you will be fine. Good luck.

these wheel are manufactured via low pressure cast technique which is the same as the BBS CH-R wheels I have, i think they should hold up pretty well

Talking

I don't track my car. Simply just a street wheel for me. However, I don't feel there would be any issues with it on the track if that was your intent with it.

The new Avant Garde Ruger Mesh M310 wheels are made using low-pressure cast methods that help keep the weight down while maintaining a high level of rigidity and overall strength.

These wheels exceed the JWL and VIA standards which make the US DOT system look lenient on their standards.

Load Ratings are at over 1800 lbs per corner. Which is plenty for your Porsche!

I know these wheels are new on Porsches, but we've been offering them to our BMW community with no reports of cracked wheels that came apart while driving.

These wheels are going to look great on your car Joe!

If you guys have any questions about the specifications on this wheel setup, please feel free to call me! Don't just speculate that since these are well priced, they're going to fall apart.

Please PM me for pricing. There are a few choices that we ran through for OP's order and there are usually some differences depending on which model Porsche you drive.

Looking forward to helping you out!
