Shift lever movement under acceleration?

How much does your shift lever move when you "get on it" or begin to accelerate?

My shifter surges forward about 1/4 inch when I go from part throttle to WOT, in gears 1,2,3.

Thanks

Tom

Check your motor and tranny mounts. If they are shot you can get this.

I was thinking trans mount, not motor. I will check both.

Thanks,

Tom

Check both. It may only be the tranny mount but a bad motor mount puts more of if not most the dampening on the tranny mounts and will cause excessive movement and visa versa. The motor/tranny combo relies on on both functioning mounts otherwise driveline slope will occur.
