Clear film paint protector/bra
I have some sort of clear film bra on the front of my car (oddly enough, not on the bumper). A corner was peeling up and collecting dirt, so like a damn fool, I thought I could peel the whole piece off. Not even close. The portion I did pull up left adhesive on the paint. How can I get this crap (adhesive) off? Is there any effective way to remove all of the film?
Try some goo gone, followed up with rubbing alcohol. It's a lot of work so you may want to have a clear bra installer do it for you. Sometimes you'll end up repainting. If you know who did the install, they may do the removal for free under warranty.
make sure you heat it up before you start peeling. you shouldn't have any paint problems if you peel it properly. a hair dryer works fine for the job. go slow and peel evenly. i've peeled about three bumpers before with no probs.
3M Film
I am by no means an expert on protective film but from what I have read on this board when you remove the the film you should insure that the film lifts off the cars surface directly upward. You should not peel it back you instintively would. The "upward" action allows the film to retain the adhesive rather then depositing it on the paint as you have experienced.
The 3M website contains a solvent specifically for adhesive removal. You should be able to track down an outlet for that product.
Good Luck

heat it up a bit. better yet do it on a sunny day. peel very slowly u should be able to get it out clean. 3M has a spray adhesive cleaner. spray on the microfiber towel not ur car. don't rub on the paint instead dip the adhesive to dissolve it. u should be able to wipe it right off. don't forget wax it after
These plastic covers are more of a nuisance than protection. Even with a good job, it will inevitably start pealing at the edges. What's worse is that the paint will oxidize differently where you have the film. The result will be a two tone car. It will show more on certain colours like black and red. The removal is also a laborious process. It has to be heated and pulled in a certain way. I used to have it all over my turbo but I had it taken off when it started pealing at the edges. Even before that happend though, you could clearly see the edges of the film. Personally, Id rather have rock chips than lines of 3M film showing. If it gets too bad (rock chips i.e) it's still easier to repaint than to peel. Besides a two tone would have to be painted anyway.

clear bra/film is always a love or hate thing. a good installer is the key to make u like the idea. any repaint will not be as strong as original paint from factory, therefore u'll get chipped most likely with days from bodyshop then what's the point of repainting it. i think majority of people don't care about chips anyways. for those who cares, we're just maintaining our car for the next owner...
Years ago I had tinted front windows on my 90 C2 Cab. After I got ticketed for it I had to take it off.
There is a mixture tint shops use to take the left over glue off easily. Just call one of them and ask what they use.

I have to agree with Rockitman. After 6 months of deliberating between film and Speed Lingerie I finally went with SL. I can install it at any time (before road trips) and not have to worry about the rock chips. It may not look as neat as film but I don't have to worry about peeling, discoloration, or large rocks chips. Like everything else in life, it all comes down to personal preference.
Go to an auto body supply shop. They are easy to find in large cities. Just look under Yahoo! yellowpages. They have exactly what you need. I have used a 3M brand glue remover and it worked magic!
