Stupid question Vince, but did you loosen and remove the 2 straps for the exhaust and remove the airbox? If you undo those 2 straps and the 2 nuts and washers for the motor mounts, remove the airbox, the engine shouild drop about a good 6 inches until it touches the inside back of the car?

 

I was able to lower the motor down, it seemed like it was stuck on the threads or something but after wiggling it around a bit it finally started to come down. I lowered it about 4 inches. Thanks for the help guys.

 

I'm still waiting for the ambulance to be called . . .
