corey i would go 997 again ,and make some sort of brace to keep it together ...

did you feel a big diff when you installed it as oppose to the 996?

I think I'd try the 997 again too with some kind of bracing. Even if it's just piano wire.

I think if you wrap it with a layer or two of fiberglass cloth and resin, it would never split again. I think it would be pretty easy to do and it could be sanded and painted, too...

the 997 gt2 is great but when you start getting up in the high horsepower range it can be a bit restrictive.

I was going to suggest this. One could even do carbon fiber if they liked. Especially with a new one, the bond to the plastic wouldn't take too much scuffing up.

Dick yes , it was tested by Mike levitas from TPC racing,on his race car , i was talking to him about this.

So has cjv, BBi, proto, shotcaller, and others... but most of the people who tested it did so on big hp motors and found some shortcomings on the 997gt2 intake.

I just got my 997 plenums and will be doing this to them. Will post up pics when I have them finished. Thanks for the good idea John

Some possibly helpful information about the cracking of the 997tt plenums which was learned through research on our own custom plenum.

Here is a pic of a brand new one, it does look like it is cracked. I am hoping people are not seeing this and removing them without pressure testing first.



I found them to be about $350 a set. You will need to also buy the gaskets and hose couplers to connect to Y-pipe which are not cheap.
