tire matching question

I've read several threads about the importance of tire size ratios as far as not damaging the differential.

I'm running stock size ps2's currently, and have toasted the rears. I wondered if anyone here has already done the research of what other manufacturers 295/30 18s have close enough spec to the ps2 to be used in rear with out problem (as we all know, the front tires live on....).

It looks like my normal guys can't get me new ps2 for a short while, so I was interested if anyone had a solution they liked. thanks, Jim

Stay 25-25.5" front and rear, or within 4% of one another to be safe.

Please call me if you have any questions!

thanks guys - I was trying to see if anyone had already done the analysis of which other mfrs tires were close enough in size and spec to be run w/pilot sprts (which are waaay backordered)

on another note - can you run an N1 pilot sport in the rear while you have N pilot sports up front?

Your post is a bit confusing, but you can find those sizes from a variety of manufacturers. What are you planning to do mostly with your Porsche?

If you're daily driving, a lot of our customers like the Toyo T1Rs or the Nitto Invos. They tend to last a good amount when compared to Contis and Michelins.

to try and clarify the question: i have n3 rated michelin pilot sports on front and rear of car with @ 12k miles on them. Rear are shot and need to be replaced. Ideally, i would buy same rear tire, and know if was safe from the perspective of my differential.

unfortunately the n3 pilot sports in rear size are not available currently, so I am trying to decide what i can run in rear (in stock 295/30 size) that is compatible with my exisiting front n3 rated pilot sports - I can find n2 and n1 rated ps2 and pilot sport, but did not know if mixing n ratings was a problem.

I also thought some of the technically oriented people on this forum may have already crunched actual tire sizes and have compatibility opinions - (i.e about running toyo in back w/michelin in front as an example)

thanks again all, and apologize for confusion - Jim
