OEM GT2 or Techart GT2 front bumper

Hi Guys,

I wanted to get some feedback on what you thought of these two front bumpers. Keep in mind that I live in New York City and that there might be the possibility that the bumper might be "tapped" by other cars backing into it. My car is garage kept in the city but If I decide to take it out, I might park it in the street. I do use the full foam bumper-guard on the front to "prevent" damage to the front bumper but it has only been mildly sucessful. People who back into my car still hit the foam and all this does is cause the paint to "stretch" since the bumper is still rubber-banding.

My main question is will the TA front bumper stand up to the abuse? and potholes? and scrapes? or should I just go with the OEM GT2 front bumper which is PU?

TIA

Pu

I have had several bumpers on my old 930 and I would say go with PU anytime you can... As long as the cost doesn't out way the benefits. Just make sure they add the flexible additive for the paint.

Best of luck in the decision,
Bryan

OEM GT2 for NYC however you might have to do all the ducting work to do it proper which is expensive.... If someone made a Urethane Tech Art Bumper I would buy it. Fiber Glass is the only thing holding me back, I am just not a fan

the pol/thane may last a bit longer to the bumps and scrapes , potholes etc , but once it breaks or cracks , its done , atleast with the fiberglass you can repair it easy.

and to me the price of doing the oem gt2 and all the ducting is definately not worth it. its pretty expensive.

We've just received the GT2 Bumper cover/ducts/vent/splitter (As in a few hours ago today) that GTDeux sold Mike Kelly. We're going to buy the associated parts and Mike will install them along with the bumper cover over the next few months, along with swapping to RWD and doing the transaxle cooler kit Mike bought from Al Norton.

In order to do a "proper" full front bumper with all GT2 parts, you're looking at $7500-8000. I know, I know, that's a chunk of coin. It's also the best, most aerodynamic solution if you're going with the GT2 style rear wing!

There's a lot more to it than just a nice open duct up front. None of the radiator openings match up to the openings in the bumper, and the center radiator is not angled to match the ducting of the bumper entry and exit vents.

I know, but since I have a gt2 it's kind of weird seeing people put the front bumper and wing. But I guess it's understandable.

thing is its a much better looking front bumper then the stock one, when people put that on , its solely for the purpose of liking the look , and not wanting to have a "GT2" , now if they rebadge it as a gt2 , then they are ******ss !!! thats my opinion.

Good point, I did see one badged GT2 RS at spocom in long beach. Had a carbon fiber wrap covering the entire body of the car. One of my buddies told me there was another GT2 at the show. But as I was walking up to it, it was an obvious fake.

I vote for the TechArt GT Street Front!

It looks so aggressive!

Our customer daily drives his 996 Turbo with full TechArt kit in Los Angeles. New York is a bit more rough, but it's do-able! Not easy....but possible!

What's the ground clearance with TechArt GT Street Front?

That car looks awesome but I would really take those headlight covers off. It looks just wrong.
