Counting down the hours.....
Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself as a new member and new 996tt owner. The car (02 blk/blk X-50) is being shipped to my house and is supposed to arrive tomorrow or Friday…to say I’m excited would be an understatement! (will be my 1st Porsche)
Wanted to give a huge shout out to Akram at Motorwerks Houston who went WAY above the call of duty to perform the PPI on the car (he drove an hour+ to pick the car up from the seller’s residence and then delivered it back to him after the PPI!) and gave me enough details/confidence to feel like the car is safe to buy.
Also want to thank Kevin of UMW who has been a GREAT resource to bounce things off of during the buying process. The fact that his shop is 15 minutes from my house is going to be a very….very bad thing I suspect
Last, wanted to thank the community on this board. I’ve been lurking for over a year, reading/researching these cars and feel there’s no way I could have made this decision without the knowledge gained here.
I’ll post pics when I can (going to need a few more posts first?). Hopefully I’ll have a set of Fikse FM10s mounted up in the next month or so and will post pics after they’re on. I was unable to locate any viewable pictures of 996tts with FM10s or Profil 10s mouted up..if anyone has any pictures, I’d love to see them.

I went to Monroe.. Another local. Congrats man! Now take the car out to High Bridge Road and see what that suspension can do in the corners.

Thanks for all the kind words...the hours continue to tick by and its killing me!
On the plus side, this wait has given me an opportunity to dust off all my polishes, waxes and buffing equipment...you know you are excited about a car when the thought of spending an entire weekend detailing it gets you excited!
