when getting off the highway at a radius'd ramp or when making a turn and applying throttle I get the feeling like the inside front wheel is lifting and of course it under-steers. I dont need to be heavy on the throttle for this to happen. Yes, I know it a rear engined car, but as a relatively new owner, it seems to handle worse that my awd mitsu eclipse in these situations.

Any recommendations on what to work on to minimize this characteristic. The car is lowered and rides on 19" Champions.

19" certainly arent the best for optimal handling for the TT...

but, what kind of tire sizes and pressures are you running?

is your suspension stock or are you on coilover? if so what kind of settings?

 

Pirelli P-zero rosso 235/35 front and 295/30 rear with 36psi front and 42-43 rear. Just springs from what the previous owner told me.

While I know there is some debate as to the rear tire size, the tires were purchased from Champion. When I inquired as to the fact that the ratios may be off, The service writer looked in a book and confirmed that in fact they are fine.

 

Was the car re-aligned after the springs were installed? Also, most people with 19s run 315/25/19 rear not 295/30

 

the springs were installed several years ago and was aligned then and 1 time since. The car tracks straight, although it has not been aligned since I purchased it. I wish it had the 315's in lieu of the 295's, but since they were installed 5 mos ago (week before I purchased her and only 800 miles) and I recently became semi retired (unemployed) I cant see replacing them at this time.

Are there any known bushing or sway bar issues I should look for?
