997 GT2 Seat install
How did you resolve the side airbags or did you not connect the system from the 997? I have the seats in my 997.2 and love them on long trips. Not for real wide bodies but superior support for drivers under 200#.
Nice seats and very well put together interior!.
Aside:
I cannot believe no other vendor had figured out the need for a folding bucket that is really like the gt2 seat....amazing to me.

Great pics, helps decision process greatly.
The old links aren't working but I found the pics here:

D33PBLU3, did you modify the bracket to get the seat even lower? I am worried that the GT2 seats won't be low enough for me to sit with a helmet. The stock supple seats certainly don't! Hah.
Any insight would be much appreciated.

Henry,
Ive been traveling allot lately, so havent had an opportunity to work with the seats, but I have a buddy with a cnc machine shop and whatever solution I end up with, I will make multiple sets. The GT2 seats are phenomenal though, dont hesitate.
If you need something sooner, check our Brey-Krause: http://www.bkauto.com/porsche/race_s...ts_porsche.php, if they make something for you, let me know.

Did you figure out a good setup for the 996 vs 997 3pt belts and receptacle?
I can't imagine spending $8k+ on seats and a rollbar and wondering if my street belts are going to work

Thanks again, I really appreciate the info -- not a lot of people have done this mod.

Will do!

!!! they are great a buddy of mine has a 7 GT2 and the seats are great...expensive upgrade but you feel it each time you drive
After a couple years, I have finally got around to resolving the 996 to 997 GT2 seat conversion. For some time I have been looking for the connector plugs to convert to the 996 wire harness, I sourced them to a BMW part number (which I dont have at the moment) but they are VERY hard to get.
One of my dealer friends suggested that there might be a resistance difference between the seat belt receptacles so I decided to meter each of them, the 996's are 100ohms connected....holding breath...so are the 997's whew!!!
The seat belt wires are the same, so I ebayed a set of 996 seat belt receptacles and cut a length of wire with the connectors and soldered them in, my 997 GT2 seats can be swapped between a 996 and 997 now without any error lights :-)
The caveat is DO NOT have the keys in the ignition while (dis)connecting the seats or you will get an air bag warning light that you will have to clear with a durametric.
Hope this helps others.
