2003 996tt clutch help

Can anyone help? I have a 2003 996tt with 30,000 miles and at the last track day at high spped the Clutch started slipping. During the next sessions there was no slipping. after about a month I started to pass a car on the street and is slipped again then the rest of the day it was fine. Has anyone had to replace a clutch so early ? and what did it cost ?

Thanks

Jim

clutch if you want oem is about 1800$ for the clutch and 10-15hrs depending on shop to install.

there are much better options out there though for a clutch and you may want to find a lightweight flywheel (LWFW) since you track.

Are you certain that the clutch is slipping? What are your symptoms? My car was misfiring at one point and that felt like the clutch was slipping, but the rpm's didn't rise.

What type of mods do you have? Higher power than stock can make the clutch wear very quickly.

do you have any mods with your TT and how many mileage with your currently clutch? Replacement clutch is 16 hours labors on the book plus the clutch. You will save some money if not done it by dealer!

Could be this, make sure you check.

However, since you track, it could also be your transmission mount gone bad. Mine went bad and caused my clutch to slip so I bought a new clutch and then realized I didn't need to. Check to make sure your transmission mount isn't toast. They are very weak rubber and do not hold up to tracking very well.

Also, we would need to know your modifications as well. My clutch went at right about 30k as well with K24's and tune. An aggressive tune on K16's could do it too though.
