Europipe Exhaust differences
SubscribeIs there any way to tell which kind of Europipe exhaust is on a 996tt just by looking at it? In other words, is the Stage 1 vs Stage 2 Quiet vs Stage 2 Loud visually different? Any way to tell which one is on the car? I don't want an exhaust which drones as find it extremely annoying but I am interested in a car that has a Europipe on it but the dealer does not know which one.
thanks..
thanks..
I believe all State 2 Europipes for the 996 Turbo use 70mm piping, so you could measure and at least find out whether the exhaust is a Stage 1 or a Stage 2. The quiet vs loud? I don't think there is an external indication. Only your ear (how loud does it sound?).
I believe there is an actual Europipe serial number which I've had success in sending to Europipe and they are then able to identify date of manufacture and the particular model. I believe it is on a plate on the cat.
Hope this helps.

The 996 TT stage 2 quiet and stage 2 loud look identical from the outside.
The stage 1 looks identical too except for the smaller 60mm outlets.
There is a serial number on the right side catalytic convertor.
Build date of our 996 TT exhausts starts from november 2000 but I'm here to support you with whatever you need.
Anybody else with questions about used mufflers feel free to contact me at stef@europipe.be
