Drag Racing: Showroom stock 996 TT results

Took the daily driver out to the local drag strip to see what it can do. Car is totally stock, half a tank of fuel, spare, puimp, etc still on board. I even forgot to turn off the air conditioning for some of the passes.

Had the car (with me in it) on the official weighbridge and the raceweight was 3,627 lbs.

Here is my pass journal for your amusement and edification.

Nice. When I cut my 1.79 60ft, I ran a 12.29 sec 1/4 mile. It's nice to see that we are on par with each other.

Hey 12.2x buddy! Looks like the stock performance is very much in line.

Well, I wasn't 100% stock. I have a modified exhaust, BUT I also have 19" wheels. Basically, the two cancel each other out. The gains that I got from my exhaust were lost with the 19" wheels because of the rotational mass.

Also, I ran my times with about 27,000 miles on the clock on the stock plugs that were originally in the car. I probably lost a few horsepower because of that as well. I definitely notice a difference now that I recently put in new plugs.

So, yeah, even though I wasn't technically "stock", my times should have been in the stock range because of how my wheels cancelled out the gains from my exhaust.

Yes, we were pretty much dead-on. My best trap was 116.25mph.

Congrats on the 12.2x!!!

Mr. Blonde-
If it's not too personal would you please guesstimate how much you weigh?
Trying to get an accurate weight of a stock TT.

My '01 turbo (the lightest of the 996 turbos from what I understand) was just at 3440lbs (I am trying to recall from memory, so it might be +/- 5lbs or so) with a half tank of gas if I remember correctly. I also had luggage in the trunk.
