Can you have bad coils with no codes or other detectable misfire issues?

Hey guys, my car runs fine, no smoke, holds 1.1 bar just fine, has a new maf, is on fresh rubber and 18's, and has no boost leaks I am aware of. However, my car just does not seem as fast as it should be, which was confirmed with a g-tech (I know, not that accurate, but I find they are consistent), which showed that my buddy's 04 cab with no mods but a fabspeed exhaust was consistently 2 tenths of second quicker to 60 than my car (with him driving both cars, just too eliminate driver skill as a variable).

My car has 77k on the clock, and I did plugs 20k miles ago but did not change out the coils because there were no codes, misfires, or detectable cracks or damage to the coils. So for good measure I've ordered plugs and new coils from Sunset, just so I can eliminate that as the possible cause of my "somewhat" sluggish performance. Other than coils, and possibly a worn flywheel (I did not replace it when I put a stock clutch in a few years back, even though the Tech thought it looked "borderline"), I don't know what the problem could be. Is it possible to have a boost leak that affects performance and spool time, evne though full boost is indicated on the guage on every WOT pull? If so, it could be I've got a small boost leak that is causing some extra lag. What do you guys think? Thanks!

(p.s., I have a durametric, guess I should get off my duff and do some datalogging

Scott,

With 20K on the plugs - a fresh set of plugs should wake up the car.

We shall see...I'll probably dive in next week! Your cross-flow is tempting me John, even though I'm happy with my 60mm gen 1 speedtech!

Scott, it's probably a good idea to do the coils, too, if you've never done them. Then that whole area is freshened up.

You would absolutely love our crossflow. It's a huge step up the exhaust chain.
