Dead Battery!

Battery is dead! Meter reads 11 volts, Does it sound like the altenator or could it be a loose belt. If its the Alt. how much does that usually cost to repair.
Thanks

Mine died after about 3 years. My dealer replaced it, and told me it wasn't unusual. The alternator was fine, nothing to worry about.

Greetings,

battery

I replaced the battery and the volt metter still reads low, im sure thats its either the Alt. or the belts. How likely is it that a loose belt can cause the alt to not work.
Thanks

Does the car crank okay? If you run the car for an hour then shut down, does the car start okay?

Using a voltmeter what is the voltage at the battery? 13+ volts?

If all of the above are okay then it is probably the meter.

It's probly the alternator since your voltage is low with the car running. Time for a new one.
