Red face Trunk Release Replacement

Has anyone here had to replace their trunk release solenoid? Is it common for these to die? It is only pulling about 1/4 of the stroke. Anyone else have this problem before or am I just lucky?

Update

I had to replace the solenoid. It has no strength left in it. Tried cleaning and a lube job. Nothing worked. Put in a new one and everything is good.

Thanks for the help.

Mine seems to click open then quickly lock shut. I have to have someone there to open it immediately while pulling the open lever. I'm just not fast enough.
