I just found this on the garage floor. I know it came from the car, but where should it be?

The car is still running great without it by the way...

I googled the part number and it appears to be a rear taillight vent tube. You will be fine, but next time you have your lights out, put it back in.

Yes, I googled it too and I know it's 28 bucks, but does anyone have a picture of it installed? I suppose I could just take both lights off and check the one that is still installed...

It appears it goes on the front side of the lights - so have to remove then to inspect. 50/50 odds! Only two bolts per light and wiggle them out - pretty easy job!

Yes that's what it is alright. I had to replace one of my tail lights and I remember this tube. If you're worried about it at all you can reinstall it yourself very easily.

Great pics - but why does the parts list say you need 4 if there is only one per side???

Obviously you need 4 so you have spares when they fall off! :-)

Thanks for all those who posted information - I removed the light (naturally picked the side that was OK first) and found out why you need 4. I have replaced it and all spare parts have been accounted for again.

Funny. My company produces actual PTFE based vents that are applied over a hole in the housing. Most every company out there but the Europeans use this solution.. Those are called macaroni tubes and they leak like a siv!

Now back on topic!
