AWE in philly?
pm markski , and he will take care of the rest.
you hook up the duramtric cable , you do a few third gear pulls , from like 2000 rpms to redline, loging , actual bank sensing lambda 1 and 2, ignition angle , load and rpms ,
send him the info , they adjust and send it back .

Agreed
I remote tuned with Todd @ Protomotive, it was a great experience. Highly recommend, especially if you have a Durametric and don't mind getting a bit involved with your car.
AWE is a great bunch of people,They dont dyno tune them selves actually. they use GIAC , they would dyno the car and send the info back and forth with GIAC till they get what they are looking for .
IMO , and no offence to awe , i really dont care for giac. i would choose protomotive, you can tune it just as good with durametrics, and will be cheaper.
and is this for the red 996 ?

If my father doesn't want to get the info log it and have someone else do it, are there local shops in south central PA that would do this and send the info and tune it? He deals a lot with sun motor cars for work to his car. Always had perfect work done with little to no problems with the porsche. The main mechanic Hiro has been great. Would they probably do that? If we would call in to sun motors what exactly do we ask for to be done? Ask them to do durametric tuning with a specific company? I.E. markski, or todd?
Also anyone know of a good upholstery shop in the area? He would like to do the interior up with lots of custom stuff.

why would want to have sun motors or any other shop do it and have them charge you money for something so simple ?
anybody can do it i explained how to do it in my previous post .
another question,
why dont you get in contact with EVOMS since you are running their complete setup ? they would be able to help you as well ,since you have their full kit and all ,do you feel the car is off tune wise ? or are you not happy with evoms for some reason ?

Yea in the process of doing that as well! Just trying to get all my options possible.
well he will not get anything dirty, you get this program called duramertics , on your lap top , hook up the durametric cable to the obd2 port of the car and your laptop.
you run the program , you will do a 3rd gear pull from 2000 rpms to redline, and you will log ignition angle , rpms , load and actual sensing lambda bank 1 and 2 .
after your done you hit save , and you email it to your tuner..
if you wanna drive that thing down here ill do it for you . i work in york. but its truly very simple .

Its not about actually physically dirty. I would do it for my dad just a matter if he wants me to, to do it.
Let me give you an example he had a computer problem but all his stuff was backed up on his external hard drive. I told him he had to erase his internal HD and reinstall the OS. But he was to nervous I had to basically force him to do it and another friend told him it had to be done in order for him to actually go through with it. He just gets a little paranoid lol

I think he's wishing for a GT700 kit. That what his sig seems to say (no flame).
If your car is mostly stock, you're best off with an off the shelf tune. The people recommended here are GREAT. But there is a big difference between needing a custom tune for a highly modded car. And a basic flash for your car with an exhaust.
Your location, including proximity to AWE, suggest to me you should take the car there and have them GIAC flash it. It's a great all season tune with no fiddling. It's sold by dealers worldwide and works great.
Once you get into bigger turbos, waste-gate adjustment, injectors and aftermarket MAFs then I can totally see wanting or needing a custom tune. A custom tune for a stock car seems to me like total overkill. All the competition and rhetoric seem to simply be driving A/F and timing maps closer to kaboom.
Again i have total respect for the people mentioned in this thread. they provide excellent products and service. But there does seem to be this idea lately that everyone needs a custom tune. I have to respectufully disagree.
