AWE in philly?
My father wants to get his car dyno tuned at AWE in philly. I have heard about AWE but I am not super familiar about there reputation. Particularly the one down in philly, anyone have good experience or hear good things? We got the recommendation from Chad Block Racing in the area because they don't dyno tune.
AWE is a great bunch of people,They dont dyno tune them selves actually. they use GIAC , they would dyno the car and send the info back and forth with GIAC till they get what they are looking for .
IMO , and no offence to awe , i really dont care for giac. i would choose protomotive, you can tune it just as good with durametrics, and will be cheaper.
and is this for the red 996 ?

Drive up to EPL in Connecticut if you want a custom dyno tune, with the programming done in house. You'll be able to enjoy the two-hour drive home afterwards. I did, and couldn't be happier. Super nice and knowledgeable guys, and they have a great policy towards credit on future software upgrades. Both Tony and Robin roam these boards regularly.
durametric is a obdII cable that plug into a laptop and datalog the car for real world results not dyno results. These cars cannot get proper airflow over the intercoolers ona dyno to make them perform properly.
so what you do is get a base flash file upload it at your house, then datalog the car send to tuner they evaluate the information, and send you an update 1-2 times and your set.
these cars come stock with wideband o2 sensors that the stock DME can read and can be datalogged by durametric cable.
Dyno tuning is only necccisary for crazy builds and seeing the #your tune produces
