GT2 Slave conversion fluid question

I've got a few questions about hydraulic fluids in regards to the GT2 slave conversion.

On a stock 996 Turbo I understand that the power steering pump/reservoir use Pentosin. The PS pump also has some internal bits that provide boost for the clutch accumulator, right? What kind of fluid is used by the clutch hydraulics (master/slave) themselves ... DOT4?

On a GT2 slave conversion, DOT4 replaces the fluid in the PS pump and reservoir, right?

Do I have all of these points right? So what's the deal with Pentosin? Why is it used in the PS / accumulator system?

On the 996TT, the PS and clutch share the same reservoir, fluid and pump. All use (the same) Pentosin.

On the GT2 slave conversion, the PS remains as it was, i.e., uses Pentosin. There is no power assist to the clutch, and all of the clutch fluid and lines are filled with hydraulic oil. I think brake fluid is ok. In the Evoms conversion, they provide a cap for the connector that used to drive the clutch slave/accumulator.

I don't know why they use Pentosin.

The clutch master cylinder( under the front hood) gets DOT4 and the power steering pump and system remains with pentosin.

Make sure you flush ALL of the Pentosin out of the front lines. Even a few ounces of Pentosin will destroy the seals of the new master/slave. Pentosin spilled on any rubber in the car will damage it as well. . .

Okay, I think I'm finally getting it. For whatever reason, I hadn't been thinking about the front hood.

So with the GT2 conversion the PS pump/reservoir sticks with Pentosin. This is a black fill cap under the rear hood near the oil fill with "Pentosin" marked on it, right?

The clutch hydraulics switch to DOT 4. This is a green cap (stock) with Pentosin that gets switched to a DOT4 cap during the conversion process.

Okay, I'm all set now, thanks.

Just curious - in the stock system, do the fluids from the front hood reservoir and the rear hood reservoir intermix? If so, how?

They intermix when your slave seals fail and the pressure from the PS pump drives fluid back up to the front of the car, and causing a nice mess.
