I have this upgrade on my gt35s and I hit 20 psi at 4k rpm and 25 psi by 4.5k rpm. Im not sure how non hta gt35s spool up. Hope this helps. How do your gt35s turbos spool compared to mine?
the Hta turbos shine in their higher boost sections, and this depends on what application and style were talking about. are we talking about a tial exhaust housing and a large gt35/gt40/gt42/gtx42 housing or a full garret setup?
you wont get less performance from a billet hta wheel but unless you go bigger its not worth the upgrade from regular to billet of the same size for the $ i would say.
look into a gt40/gtx wheel
the question is how much lag are you willing to deal with and how much bigger are you gonna go with the fuel system to match.

bimmer are you 3.6 or 3.8? head work?>
I have very quick spool time because I went with a 0.63 housing as oposed to the conventional 0.82 housing. When I build my car 3 years ago, no one with a 3.8 liter was making over 800 hp thus my decision to go with a smaller housing. Currently a ton of cars are making the XXXX hp and so is my car however I do not want to go to a larger turbo because I do not think I have maxed out this unit. I do think I can make it more effecient thus my question about HTA.

The maximum boost I have attained with good AFR is 39 pounds. I do not think I need to move up the housing until I maximize these turbos? HTA seems to work better at hight boost which I do run in this car.

Damn! 39 psi! I have not went passed 30 yet. I run the gt3076r's with a 6x hot side (don't remember) a/r and have put down 860 rwhp at 90 plus degrees air temp. I am at 20 psi of boost at 3.5K. No water cooling and 20k miles on them. They are on my car since 2007. I am putting a lift in my warehouse so maybe I will try out these GT35r with the hta's just to run with you big dogs..
there are quite a few, Protomotive has a pretty good port job, BBi also has a guy, Performance Developments(neil harvey). Fabryce at GMG mentioned something about it on the phone with me once.
cams are by a couple companies the only one offering brand new cams to my knowledge is Performance devolpments.
there are regrinds by a couple companies available if you look and ask around.

to run both cams, the trays need to machined, upgraded valve springs and in some cases different lifters. also the DME must be reprogrammed to use gt3 style cam sync setup.
Turbo cams are based on how much boost you run, the higher the boost the more the exhaust cam needs to stay open. Remember the turbo does nothing to help evacuate the exhaust stroke of the four cycle motor.
