Radar detector for 911 turbo

I just bought a 2005 911 turbo cab and wanted to get a good built-in radar detector. Any opinions on what brand is best? Also, it is Porsche certified with 2 year warranty, does installing a radar detector void warranty?

there is a big thread about this within the last week search for it.

but as far as radar detector V1/ and the new redline by escort are top notch.

but these dont cover lidar or laser you need a jammer for this i recommend Laser interceptor first Blinder products second which is inline with independant testing from radar roy

I'll throw my .02 in ...K40, I'm completely satisfied, I love the stealthy install. I'm sure others will chime in. FWIW I had mine installed by the dealer so not too worried about warranty.

I bought the K40. It's about as stealthy as it gets from an install perspective.

The K40 is reqularly near the bottom of the barrel when it comes to actual performance specs.

Lucky for them, most rich guys who like the stealthy install (and shell out $2000) don't do comparison tests... of course those that own it will say "its great and the salesman said they've redesigned it and it is now one of the best".

just saying.

All forums operate the same way though, and by now everyone should know that most questions have been asked before on all of them.

But welcome to 6Speed. This is a great source of information.

Anyone have any experience with the Beltronic STI-R? I stumbled upon it a couple weeks ago online, it might be an old system even..

I use the regular STI and it's very good. You being in SW VA it's the only viable choice since it cant be detected by a LEO.

The STi is a high quality detector. It's not as though everything other than a V1 is rubbish. It will protect him from radar and be completely undetectable. The V1 will always be seen by a RDD so if someone lives in VA or especially Canada they should consider that as a factor when making their decision. My two cents.

I agree a LI jammer should also be used for total protection.
