is it ok if i fit 295/35/18 instead of the stock 295/30/18 at the rears? will the middle number cause any issues (35 instead of 30)?

Always look at the overall diameter of the tire. Tire Rack has this info along with the revolutions. These numbers will dictate which combinations of tire sizes you can use.

I had to remove my rear tires (when i purchased 19" wheels that were on a 997) because the revolutions were too far off which doesn't work for a 996.
