I know this doesn't really answer the question- but I would keep 996tt and put the extra 40k into another toy- a lotus exige, catterham, boat, ect.

My opinion is to keep the 996tt. You save cash which you can for more mods if you want to make it go faster.

Thanks guys-I really appreciate the input. I guess we all get the fever from time to time, but I am going to keep my 996TT. Have a great Holiday Season.

Good choice...maybe "spice" it up a little bit w/ an exhaust. Will get you excited about it again.

I agree with everything said so far. I see you're in Charleston. I'm in Sumter. I think I saw pics of your car a few months ago. With the 996's having bulletproof motors, and I 've heard there can be some problems with the bottom ends of the 997's. I would work on modding the car you have now and it will feel like a new car.

If you can afford the car, buy it and help the economy. Just do not dump your 996TT and hurt our resale market.

Don't think you're going to get $50K for your 996 on a trade-in, maybe private party, so the cost difference may be larger than you think. Otherwise, start driving it.

Instead of 50K for a 997, why don't you spend 20k for a 800hp power kit and another 10k for suspension upgrade? At least this is what I would do if I had 50k spare.

Have fun either way!!!
