need help finding good indy shop in San Diego

Guys-

An old high school buddy of mine just picked up a used 996 turbo and has been dealing with the stealership for repairs. I told him I could most definitely get him a name or two of quality indy shops and maybe he'll be able to put his son through college with the money he saves.

He told me he is in the north end of the county around Del Mar, La Jolla, Solana Beach, Encinatas, Carlsbad, etc.

Any ideas guys? He has a major issue right now with the rear suspension. I don't even know what the name of the part is but it is the housing piece that holds all the adjustable pieces [yeah I know crappy description]. Part alone is $1200 and labor is going to be through the roof because everything has to come apart to get to it. Part number is 996.331.056.01 if anyone is interested.

Thanks in advance!
Tom.

Tom,
In Escondido, there is All German Auto, pretty good with general repair and very reasonable. For older P-cars, I would recommend Black Forest. Find out more about the piece he needs replacing and PM me. Maybe I can help.

Also RSR Autosport (I think Ryan is the owner).

Cheers,
-Arman

All German Auto in Escondido. Deiters in La Jolla or Black Forrest in San Diego. Mirage Auto on Miramar Road is also very good with suspension work.

I've been to all the Indy shops in town and without a doubt all German auto in Escondido blows the other indy shops AND dealer away.

Black forest is sketchy at best - I've brought my nodded TT there for suspect work and they told ne it was all good (it wasn't, and I spotted a loose nut with my naked eye).

Another "complex lighting issue" involving my headlight was no more than a loose contact that I fixed myself in5 min (after 4 hrs of diagnostics)

Go to black forest if you have a 944 turbo that you want to spend a ton of cash on running diagnostics.

Go to dieters if you have an old air cooled car and u think that water cooled suxx.

All others - report to all German. Stellar service, thorough work, fair pricing.

I live in North County and currently get my car worked on by BBi which is about 1 hour away. I think its worth the drive. You got PM.
