IF you had Higher energy coils then it would be benifical,as the reasons were stated above,to open the gaps.....As any manufacter of high out put coils would do so,thats what you use them for.......A smaller gap is harder to blow out under pressue BUT it does not expose more flame for a better burn/explosion.....All this is basic 101 performance stuff...So,if confused, leave it at stock gap,,,Anyways a 'couple' of thousandths is not that much difference because there is usually a range to be in before you do loose efficiency of the gap .........Just my info to try to help out........

I was just posting my experience. At 1.2-1.3bar, with stock gap ( .030-.032), I had misfires with 997 coils, which I believe are the updated coils now for the 996. All things being equal, my car runs great with a .026 gap.

I do not know how the 997 coils are as compared to the 996 ones with voltage energy??All I can say,is that my installer put those above plugs in that EPL sent me and they said they were stock gapped. Now with the cold weather, low 30's temp I am hitting 1.3 bars in 3rd right away and 1.4 bars right away in 4th with no misses........I will keep my fingers crossed,,,,,lol.......Have a good night guys

Hi Robin,

The NGK plug is BKR7EIX-11 (iridium)?

This NGK plugs are similar to Denso IK22.

Thanks

The NGK BKR7EIX plugs are great plugs for a 911 turbo with some mods. Gap it at around the .026 or .028 range as per normal and you should be good to go.

That is what is in my car as of now and coincidentally that is also what is in my supercharged Russian aiplane for the last 4 years.

NGK BKR7E gapped to .025 have served me well at 1.4 bar. The car runs smooth as butter and is fast/strong as can be. At $2 a plug you cannot beat them. Part #4644 at Advanced Auto.

I'm on BKR7EIX now and just started getting some misfire after 3000miles....

I'm thinking the plugs are the culprit. Just changed coilpacks at the same time to brand new ones....

They didn't. While I believe they use the BRK7E's, I have always used them in turbo cars in the past (VR6 Turbo, S4's, Etc.) They are an all around great, effective, cheap plug that you can buy almost anywhere.
