H&R springs

H&R springs
My car is lowered with H&R springs. I think it's a bit low especially for the roads around here. Is there anyway to get more clearance with the existing springs or do I need to buy something else? Even the slightest bit is better than nothing.
Thanks

You can switch to coilovers which will let you adjust height, or go back to stock springs...

I had coilovers on my last turbo. I'm aware of the other options out there. Was just hoping to be be able to do something with existing springs. Or I suck it up and drive as is.

There are hack solutions like rubber you can jam in between the coil gaps or even heavy duty "hooks" with bolts you can use to either pull tight or stretch springs. The used to be really frowned upon unless you're 15 and illegally running a stolen ricecar with bad tint and different style rims front and rear, but the rubber versions I think are a touch more legit if you are just looking to get through the winter. Search your local hack tuner zone auto parts stores or ebay.

Along MrWhite's suggestion, you could have a machine shop cut you some slim metal plates to put on top of your springs. Make sure the springs are still safely in the perches, though. (If that's possible. I don't know.)

This is going to sound a little bit too Canadian...eh... but a hockey puck with a hole drilled through it on top of the spring will work perfectly.

There are compensation discs available from Porsche. They come in 2.5 and 5mm thickness as I recall. I know because my old MO30 RoW setup came with them. They aren't really intended to raise the car, they are used to bring the ride height into spec at the factory. I got them from Suncoast several years ago, but they should be able to help you.
Also the NASCAR guys use specialized rubber spacers all the time, they are intended to run 500 miles at a time....just a thought. Longacre Racing carries them.

I had the compensation discs for my 993 with the ROW MO30. They were for the rear only as the front shocks were threaded. Don't know if they work on a 996. MBZ also uses rubber compensation spring spacers (four sizes) to equalize right height. In either event you'll have to pull shocks and springs out and have it aligned so you might as well get adjustable coil overs.
