Soooo...a pair of Tial 3071 showed to my door today!
I'm not sure about the tranny..
But there was another 3d where he hit 700WHP on race gas..on Tony's 4wd Mustang dyno....
EDIT: found https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...s-results.html
keep in mind, stock IC, inlet,tb,ypipe..

I know a guy running 3076's on a Tip and can't even get close to my 16/16g numbers.
I wish there were more tips with alpha turbos to ask questions about the differences in turbos! I don't think there are any 996TT with 3071 or 3076....but I do not plan to do a motor build and want to minimize lag...problem with the 28's is that the power is not insane due to the higher drivetrain loss of the tiptronic. My car feels slow to me unless I am running race gas, which is so annoying to buy and fill up etc... Maybe a 3076 pump tune would fit my goal.
Now that the next gen mitsubishi billet wheels are out (18gtx 20gtx etc..), I wonder if these tial's are worth the $$
(sorry, don't mean to steal your thread)

Stuck....thinking about dropping the engine or not..
My wastegate adjusting tool LOL!!! It is actually a pump I use to adjust the bycicle pneumatic fork, only fitted with a pressure gauge that has a much lower scale.
Guys would you suggest dropping the engine?? It could take a bit, but in the end swapping the clutch, injectors, and inlet pipes could take less time...
What's your thought?

Good luck!
How many miles/km are on your engine? Now would be the time to check/change all hoses, clamps, coils etc. More pics of the current intake pipes compared to new ones please, thanks for the pics and updates
How hard was to take out the engine?
Nice! You're gonna be done before me! :P

I'll post pics of the old intake, which is horrible to say the least....they should fire the idiot that designed that piece of $hit...
Your gonna love it...totally different car with the 3071s!

I have to say, if I could afford to spend some more money right know, I would have done a rebuild with rods, studs and lifters....but my wallet is still not big enough so the engine will have keep up untill next spring...

PS: I cut my oil filter and with joy I found no traces of metal, not even the slightest particle...but the oil was pretty dark, even if it only had 4k miles..too much carbon residue maybe.
These intakes must have been either an afterthought or more likely a clever design to limit power for the next model for which the 997tt is much better. Good luck with your interesting project.
Careful boy.......that's the way we,scientific, develop products

Oh $hit! It seems like I opened a can of worms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I found the slave cylinder it's leaking through the rod seal into the gearbox housing, and has practically fuccked up the old clutch..
I have no time to wait for GT2 conversion parts coming from USA, so I'm going to replace it, buying it at the fair price of 420€......!!!
I bought a rear main seal, being sure it was leaking, but found out that it is super dry and in very good conditions...
Here is a suggestion, from the deepest of my heart, for you guys that live near or have the possibility to ship the car to reputable shops.....DON'T try to save money going to some non-specific shop....pay more but pay once and get the job done correctly.
I'm basically working on the car by myself, and so many things can get fuccked up if you don't know what the hell you are doing....now it's me working and so I'm sure I pay attention and take the time to understand/search. But I'm sure anyone else (generic mechanics) would not be so patient and meticulous....
At the same time, huge props to all of the guys here that work on your car by yourself...
