Prodigymb, what amp did you use? Did you replace the stock speakers? If you only change the head unit and amp what amp would work w/ the stock speakers?

I replaced my head unit with a Pioneer AVIC 120 BT. I was unable to get the stock amp to talk to it (can't transmit security code) so I had to replace the amp with a Alpine PDX-5. I replaced the speakers with Infinity Kappas - 4 inch for front and rear, 5.25 inch for doors. I also added a sub and the whole thing sounds amazing compared to the stock setup.

There are a couple ways to go here, depending on what you want to do.

If you change everything, I would use a nice aftermarket amp. Personally I prefer JL and Alpine products, although I just switched my Alpine Navi for the same Pioneer you have. For the sub I am using a JL 500/1 amp and for the speakers I am using a Nakamichi amp. In my car I have replaced the entire sound system including all speakers/tweeters etc.

The only way I read of is to downgrade to a non-most amp if you want to keep stock speakers. You may be able to use an aftermarket amp but I dont know how poerful of an amp you need and

avic will not talk to a stock MOST amp, you either have to downgrade to a non-most amp or get an aftermarket amp/speakers setup. i agree that a nice system sounds amazing in a compact car like this.
