A huge props to Tony @ EPL...

I ordered a flash from him friday, received the software and was unable to download the software and send the software serial number until 10 at night. He was nice enough to activate the software on his day off so I could flash today. All I can say is wow. The best service, price and support in the euro tuning world IMHO. The flash took less than 10 minutes and was easy.

The tune fixes every glitchy part of the stock 996TT software in addition to adding power. The throttle response is soo much better that even getting going from a stop in first is easier than stock. The car used to fluctuate in idle when pressing the clutch to shift to neutral while using the brake. It doesn't now. The cold start idle is also much smoother. I now have to figure out all the launch features and such this tune comes with.

Wait, you're VAGscum? Way to switch up the screen names and confuse me.

Oh and you need A30's now.

Yeah, I setup this screename when I was deciding to put the S4 up for sale. I thought it would be bad to completely loose my VAG ties and hence the name. It is funny though because I realised after creating the name that not every person out there associates VAG with Volkswagen Audi Group, but vag short for vagina. That makes it seem gross. Lol.

Congrats! Tony is an awesome drug dealer, um, tuner! :-)

Let the addiction begin! I still remember my first hit - EPL K16 flash. It was awesome!

A friend of mine (the 6speeder ThePunisher) wasn't able to upload the tune on his DME....BUT the guys at EPL figured out what the problem was and solved the it...teaching him a very nice trick......
They are now custom tuning his 18g's and he's on the "first" map now, but he told me that even using this "rough" tune on bigger injectors his car is much smoother and stronger than before!!!!Tony is now working on a modified version of his datalog software to make it suitable for euro DME's (at least this is my understanding), so that my friend will be able to datalog. From what I understand this implies a lot of programming work...
They really deserve kudos..

EPL ftw!!

I agree. Tony and crew are very helpful. I had issues loading as well - all operator error. Mine was pretty silly - I had the cable stretched a little and it was pulling from the computer and disconnecting. After about 15 minutes of frustration, I finally realized the problem and 5 minutes later I was happy.

Well, initially the computer wouldn't recognize the flash cable, but what I found was that when it tells you to unplug and plug in the cable when setting up the cable I was not giving the computer enough time to register the cable. A 5 count before clicking OK seemed to fix this issue. The flashing part went well.

Soon Audi is leaving this friday. I'll be keeping the turbo at EPL until the spring though since I don't have a garage up here yet. Damn construction workers are still storing their stuff in them...

Not officially yet. But it's happening very soon. So you can hold off on that congratulatory 3am phone call for now.

It is kinda hard to sell this S4 now though. I've fixed and cleaned it up for the new owner, but it's running so good that I'm having second thoughts. I have to keep looking at pics of the turbo to remind myself that's it's a good idea to ditch the S4 haha.
