tipronics now or pdk later

should my wife buy a cpo 997 tt w/tiptronics now or wait a year or two for a cpo tt w/pdk(not many 911's with pdk yet let alone tt w/pdk).the car has to be an automatic either way because my "dear" wife can not drive manual worth of $h!#. she 's the one buying it so i have no say so in transmission selection. i could only guide her, and persuaded her to go for a tt model (fringe benefit for me =). she drives a 06 cayenne S now and wants to trade in for a 911,so should we get a tiptronics now or wait for the pdk later. my heart is set on pdk though. help me decide.

If you are looking to upgrade (power-wise) down the road, look into the 997TT Tiptronic.

The PDK is a much larger initial investment, roughly twice the cost of the PDK Turbo if my memory serves me correctly. Our Tiptronic cars in Moscow have been beat on day in and day out without issues, and have many "kills", including a 'busa.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

the only reason that i'm interested in pdk (never driven a 911 w/pdk)is that from what i've read ,it rev matches when down shifting as manuals do with heel and toe. i drive a 05 350z 6sp and thats what i do when i down shift, the tiptronics on my wife's cayenne S jerks when i down shift to slow down, don't notice the jerk too much when down shifting it and gunning it to pass someone up on a freeway though. it becomes real apparent when slowing down, i just hate that jerk motion and that is the reason why i'm leaning towards the pdk ,and plus its new. please tell me some more.

PDK is expensive indeed but wow how quick with the LC ...the tip can be built up for great drag strip times...but when all is said in done in a P car I prefer the manual for the driving experience

I'd have to vote for the PDK -- mechanically, it's a thing of beauty! I have driven a 2009 911S with PDK and it was amazingly smooth. My only prior experience was with the old SMG gearboxes in the previous generation M3s. There's no comparison with the newer double-clutch transmissions.
