Dual in-tank fuel pumps, do you run an aftermarket fuel cooler?

Where would you mount it; under the front passenger fender? Makes sense though... cooler fuel is happier fuel.

There are many schools of thought and I am sure we will hear about most of them... What I know, monster fuel filter, then a monster single pump at the tank, then right into a fpr suited for your setup return that to the tank, large fuel line to 3/4 fuel rails (to deal with injector pulse). Now some will say that fuel psi will drop a little after each injector and they would be right if your pump is to small or the rail does not have enough volume. Now what I know about fuel temps, Larger pump makes less heat as it does not work the fuel as hard. I also wrap the fuel line with fire shield and insulation to combat heat soak. now after the fuel is sent to the injector it is used and not returned to the tank hot. If you have ever seen how much fuel bypass the regulator at idle and part throttle you would be amazed.

and let's not forget...

pressure = heat cool the fuel after you've pressurized it

BOOM. +1

The added 044 next to the fuel filter is a great quick solution to a tricky and expensive issue. But not the best. I have heard about a few in-tank dual pump plug-n-play kits but never seen one. Set ups like Tims are great but you have to be mechanical. A Boeing engineer bought my GT700 car and installed his own single pump set-up and additional fuel cooler with air going to it through a naca duct. I'm trying to get pics and he's going to the dyno next week.

I read once on this forum that the A/C cools the fuel. Not sure if it's based on fact.

In my opinion the only safe way to run dual pumps is to separate the left and right side of the engine fuel wise, then you let one pump support the left bank and one the right side.

I have done this on my car and it's quiet simple, you buy a fuel rail for the right side (this is where the FPR is located) and fit on the left side (it bolts right on). Then you route two new fuel lines, one return and feed line. If you have the GT2 tank like i do then you have two access holes= two output holes, so I just added the fuel lines from the GT2 (I have a Turbo with GT2 tank)

I post a picture of the fuel pumps later.

And this system will safely support 1000 hp.

are you monitoring somehow that both fuel pumps are working? so you dont try to run the car with only 1 pump working?

Cup cars run two 044 pumps and they make at best 540hp on the crank. I know a import drag racer the uses 8) 2250cc injectors on a four cylinder with two 044 in parallel. He only goes a 1/4 at a time with a fuel psi safety switch. Would I do it hell no! but Honda's are cheep!

No, the beauty of it is that if one pump stops running it won't hurt your engine.

I think we can agree that the stock fuel system can support 500hp, and I'm running two stock fuel systems.

And the stock pump isn't a 044 it's a VDO pump.

Well if you need 2 pumps and one goes out, then your car will run lean since 1 pump isnt anuff that why you are running 2.

NO, if you have separated the left and right engine bank and one pump stops one half of the engine will just stop running.
