Dual in-tank fuel pumps, do you run an aftermarket fuel cooler?
Just installed a dual 044 pump system in my car and was wondering if those who have the same setup (Evo guys) are running aftermarket fuel coolers? These pumps get pretty loud especially when they get hot. From what I have been reading most big fuel line kits bypass the factory cooler? Thoughts?
Thoughts? Loose the two pumps and get one that can do the job. Rebuilds are very expensive when one stops working, you will not know as one does enough for work for normal driving and short bursts.
Blew a motor with one of those hunks of sh*t. Rebuilds?, the 044s are $200 brand new?The 044 pumps have been proven to be VERY reliable. I have a fuel pressure gauge in the car that warns me if pressure gets low under boost.

I do not know of one pump that will fit in the stock basket that will handle that power. Its like everything else on these cars, redesign something that will do what you need. I am running one weldon that's good for 2500 hp.

Talked to Todd at Protomotive today and he said you must run some sort of cooler or the fuel/tank will overheat. He said he has seen drops in fuel pressure if the factory cooler is not tied into the system. I am now trying to figure out an aftermarket cooler or splitting the return so half is going into the factory cooler.
I have ordered up a fuel cooler normally found on a diesel truck. This is the longest I could find. Hopefully it will fit in the tunnel next to the d-shaft. They make a single pass -6AN in/out. This "should" do the trick I hope. Will keep ya posted. Best part it was only $75! No p-tax

Yea, pretty much the same thing. I havent talked to Alex about it yet. I will probably throw it in myself.
I have two 044 pumps and they to get really loud when fuel gets hot, pumps began to cavitate. Im also trying to figure a solution. It usually happens about half and hourr after driving which sucks *****. Keep you guys posted if a resolutions comes up.
