Thinking of getting a VW toureg?

I'm looking at a 2005 fully loaded V8, the truck seems like a good value compared to the competition, does anyone have one or have knowledge about the truck, thanks.

The truck is for the ex, she doesn't need to tow anything the V8 is more than enough. The interior is surprisingly luxurious. It seems like allot of truck for a little over 50k. (I just notice I posted in the main forum, sorry about that).

You're buying your ex a car? A nice one? You must have your kids riding in it.

Sure do and she is a great mom, our marriage didn't work out but we are very civil towards each other and she deserves a nice ride, I am more than happy to buy her one (as long as I can afford to, thankfully right now I can).

The toureg was the most unreliable, the most problematic car in consumer reports this past year. Also this was the only European car that majority wouldnt recommend to buy based on Consumer report. You can take that information how it is. I had bought a MBZ Ml320 and it was the worst piece of unreliable crap I have ever owned. Consumer reports reported what my suspicions were about this poorly built car. Just as many owners were not happy with the vehicle and in 98-99 this MBZ ML320 was the most problematic car for every 100 produced. I would stay away from the toureg, just as I would stay away from the Cayenne because of its known problems.

for the ex? Get an Acura MDX - 196kw All the luxury and power you need if there's no towing. No reliability issues either

She didn't like the look of that truck, my vote was for the FX45, she didn't like that one either, she really wanted an X5 but when she test drove both, she realized that the VW was a much better bang for the buck, not to mention the VW's interior blows away the X5's.

have an 04 V8 Treg. Had it for one year with 11k miles. Overall, very well built, reliable etc. There has been some electronic gliches (seems like a common problem), but no major problems. Be ready for city mpg around 10-12. But like you said , it's a lot of bang for the buck. It was the Motortrend SUV of the year in 04. I couldn't justify spending another 20k for Cayenne S. You (or your ex) will be happy.
