bentley hunting

well for the past month or so i've had the hots for a bentley gt or an aston martin db9.
showed up at my tuners and he had both. a great looking am with only 2k and a bentley gt (wrong color ) he gave me a ride in the b car, what a great coupe. it was fairly fast and very smooth , was on my way to look at a db7 in san francisco for half the price but if its to be an am it's gotta be this one,now i'm undecided as to which car i want...

my favorite stock to took a extreme dump today so i have to wait a while giveing me a chance to escape the whole thing and watch the money grow.
but what do you guyes think? don't need the room and the bentley is faster than the aston, but it really look good. on the other hand i don't know if i can live up to the bentleys expectations

Steve I am not a fan of Bentley's but I'm a huge fan of Aston Martin, especially the Vantage. If you get an AM you will have a visit from a Canadian frog who will beg you for a ride in your new acquisition....

I want the AM with the retractable spike studs. This snow is killing me!

Approaching 60 feet this season!

I have driven both extensively. I prefer the AM. The Bentley is great but it is real heavy and handeling suffers a bit as a result. The AM is more lively and responsive and more of a GT car. Either car would be a blast though.

The Bentley coupe is a bit dated and is not terribly inspired. I'm sure it's a great car, and I know it's built on a great platform, but it seems like something an old rich man would drive when he doesn't care for sport any longer (or if you're some rapper or something). Astons on the other hand are pricey but very elegant. If it's one thing they've got down pat it's how the cars look and sound. If it's between the two, Aston all the way.

def aston, bentley is the old man car trying to be young, aston is classy through and through and arguably one of the most beautiful cars on the planet

aston is next on my list

yep im havin trouble with the old man thing too! but then i am old and have one fast car and will keep it . im told that the bentley is faster than the am and can be flashed adding 80 hp...

the am is by far a better lookin car , but am going to go for an auto as i have the porsche to go thru the gears with. as far as handeling the b car is at 58 hundred lbs. and stops almost like my p car ( i was very impressed ) and if it is indeed faster than the am it may be the winner also my tuner sez he seldom see's any problems with the bentley,as the ams seem to be troublesom......

Great cars, can't go wrong with either. Bentley is a big regular car (looks and size-wise) whereas the AM is more low slung exotic. So that is a choice right there.

If you go with AM, I would suggest the V12V. IMO the V12V and the DBS are the best lookers of production AM's. And the V12V is in the same price range as the DB9. But it is a better performer and I say better looking. Might be able to replace what you have now and fill the need for looks at the same time.

Also check out Jay Leno's video review of the V12V, he loves it.

Personally I don't understand the appeal of either. To each his own though.

gregporsche is infamous around these parts
Last night I was watching an auction on tv and saw a 2000 Bentley Azure convertible sell for 62k. Supposedly the car was 300k brand new. The car looked fantastic. Looked classy and timeless and did NOT look outdated at all .

Sutcliffe, Needell, Clarkson, and Leno are unanimous. Very seldom do you find these guys in total agreement. The V12V is the car to have of currently sold sportscars. Better than a F430, better than a GT3.........

I like all good cars and talking about them and watching them so this thread is just opportunity to talk about the car.
Here is Jay's review

And this one I saw for the first time last night, great video, I had thought that the season closer with the V12V was it's only time on the show That's below;
