Boost Loss

Was out driving some nice roads after re-installing my stock exhaust. Everything is going fine until I get on it a bit. Loud woosh and loss of power. CEL comes on. Limp the car home (not far).

Pull the rear bumper cover and wheel well linings to find both lower hoses have come out.

Get both hoses back in. Get the clips in place and button it all back up. Take the car out and now it sorta hesitates as you take off. Found a piece of straight road and low and behold, same thing...just one side.

Can the clips lose their tension?

Oh, and the ABS failure light came on. What the deuce?

I had the same exact problem. I couldn't actually find a leak and I took all the hoses off and reinstalled them. I replaced the MAF. I replaced the DVs. I took out and reinstalled my Y pipe.

I finally fixed it when I installed new clips and new boost hoses. I think the clips do loose their tension and I also think the little notch in the hose wears out.

When my coolant hose leaked, I used a hacksaw blade to make the slot a little deeper to hold the clip...been good so far...

abs light is do to un metered air do to the boost hose being off, no biggie just rest the codes. As for the clips, bend out the little tabs on the hoses. Use a small pick or something like that. make sure you rock the hose with some real good force.

Guys thanks! Totally fixed now. I am a veritable expert at removing the rear bumper guard, wheel well linings, and intercoolers. Can do both sides now in about 30 minutes. LOL

Had the car up to several full boost runs this morning. No problem. And yes Tim, the ABS light did NOT come back on.

Great board. Thanks again.

Just went through some issues myself with boost hoses coming loose a couple weeks ago. Tim's advise helped me too. Feels good to fix it yourself.
