Which reminds me to ask (never shy to parade my ignorance), did the 2002 GT2 come in Speed Yellow? I would have been beyond heaven if I found one, not that I'm complaining; too much.

The factory center grille in Carbon was available on the GT2 Sport option.

It is NO longer available , unless you find a dealer who has some old stock.

When I purchased the one for my GT2 4 years ago it was $1400.00 from the dealer and I had to wait 45 days to get it..

If you can find one buy it.

Do not buy anything that is NOT factory OEM they do not fit correctly.

Just as an FYI the factory unit is not 100% carbon it is an overlay of the stock part. It is however flawless in every way just like you would expect..

Good info, Fabyrce.

It's funny that senior members don't step in to mention Revzport as an option. I guess this is the way we junior members become more prolific through searching rather than interaction. Oh well. Cie la vie!

I remembered that Revozport makes these all carbon vents (and other goodies).

Revozport Racing Technologies - 996

Be well prepped for shipping costs from Hong Kong. And, for whatever reason, Revozport was banned from the website. I wonder what that was about? A lot of bannings as I look through the member list. Shame. Intolerance is a b!tch.

HEY, VIC!

Don't maim yourself! Yes, it did come in yellow. I don't know what the exact name for the 'yellow' was, but here is one currently for sale. Zibe.com 2002 Yellow GT2

And then there is ROTtec Carbon in Vancouver, BC Canada

Ray is a member here - carbon seat thread ROTtech Carbon Fiber Recline Seats I don't know if it would be inside of their scope to take on bits like this.

In the beginning of the Hayabusa - in 1999-ish, a lot of guys were in the process of lightening up bits here and there,,, and the inner panels that surrounded the gauges and upper panels near the frame were the focus.

So, a full set of these panels originally had to be volunteered as subjects to be used to have molds made of them. When the process is done, subjects are returned. But, right, who cares, when you get the CF parts back, true?!

If I had the part,, and it's not to far off in the distance,, and I had a willing recipient (manufacture- like Revozport or ROTtech) to make the piece knowing that there was a market for the part,, I would be the guinea-pig for the experiment and send it on out. The other option is someone was willing, rather than void your own car of the part for God knows how long, would be to find a spare to send to work with. That way you don't really miss it.

I am really going to try hard to find a Porsche-made OEM piece. Vivid Racing and Suncoast both claim to have them, but I will not know for sure until tomorrow. I will let you know what I find out.

Update: I just ordered the part from Suncoast. It is the Porsche OEM part. They sold it to me for $700, and they have one more in stock. He said he can get more from Germany, it just takes a couple of weeks. I am sorry Fabryce had to pay $1400 for his. That is a lot more than I am willing to pay in this case.

Yes, plastic with CF wrap over the exposed areas.

Does anyone know if you have to pull the front bumper off to take out old unit and install new one?

That is a good question, but it looks pretty simple. It looks like it's just 6 or so screws that hold it in. I hope.
