Taking the turbo in for some cpo work (oil pressure sensor) . Any reason I should return to the stock program?

Shouldnt be a problem. You have a good relationship with your dealer?

who does??

They did say they will do a search for stored fault codes since the problem is intermittent. Will this detect a flash? More importantly will it matter?

My P dealer is an authorized Champion Motorsports dealer and actually does GIAC flash upgrades. They also installed my IForge DVs. My 01 was out of factory warranty when I had the upgrades done so I don't know what the impact would be if you still have original coverage.

I see that dealers are not so up tight about flashes. I heard that local Porsche dealers are actually contracting the service out to some performance shops.

I just flashed my 09 TT back to stock to take it in for warranty work. My car is a "Champion" car purchased directly from Champion. However, my local dealer is a "Champion" authorized re-seller and installer, but since "they" didn't do the work....they offer NO support and had recommended I flash it back to stock before even trying to get any warranty work done. If anything odd; codes or error messages show up on the VAT scan, Porsche can deny the work/claim if the dealership is not on your side.

I guess it really depends on the GM and or the Service Manger...

Would stay away from Howard Cooper, shoddy service on our Audis. Last comment on our Allroad "who did this jury rigged work" - our reply, "that would be you" and then they initially denied it until they looked it up in their computer. Actually cut away shrouds to get to parts instead of removing them.

i would flash it back to stock

better to be safe than sorry imo, there is no downside to flashing it back to stock other than you waste a little of your time, possible downsides to leaving it as is could be very costly

Even if you flash it back to stock the dealer will be able to tell that the OEM flash was overwritten.

I would document that you have an ecu flash and inform them of this, as well as stating "I do not want you do any thing with software/ECU" ie) flash to stock or rewrite etc A company CAN NOT deny warranty due to aftermarket parts. This is a Federal Law, I would have to find it, but unless the company can PROVE beyond a reasonable doubt that that part was the contributing factor in damaging the vehicle, they HAVE to honor warranty. This is factory warranty though, I am not sure what the aftermarket warranties policies are as I am fortunate enough to be able to handle all of my vehicle work outside of warranty.

is it worth the risk of possibly having to lawyer up though ? if he can re-flash to stock easily and avoid any possible hassle, may as well do it
