Given your "tech" attitude, I'm sure you'll make it work just fine!! I wish you best of luck. And I would be extremely curious to know about your progresses along the way.

LOL... I am thinking about putting up a detailed thread about the whole process. I have to open up the motor to cut bigger valve reliefs in the pistons so I can snap some pic's and point some things out along the way. Also many minds are better then one so your input would be good too.

Just program your Motec to run nitromethane. You will have a flame throwing beast on your hands. Good luck with your project. Sounds like great fun.

Tim anything I wouldn't be able to answer I am sure Justin would be willing to share some of the information with you (if you come across any hang ups). I know Motec was one of his original choices on his car (the first Tuning Concepts 996TT "Standalone" (put with quotes because there has always been a debate about that term being used and many not knowing the diff. between how a Standalone and Piggy Back handle information)). He ended up using the FCon on his car, which is what is on mine as well. I think the biggest reason was initial cost. Watching and helping do the install in my parents garage at from 12-2am on one of the coldest nights we had seen in 10 years made it even more interesting. Esp when we went to fire it off and realized I had the straight pipes on the car. Exhaust swap at 3am with the garage open to that environment is not fun at all.

Tim - I've got a spare patch harness here if you don't want to deal with cutting into your factory harness. Also make sure you get some Audi ignitors, that's one of the trickier parts of the process to figure out.

Depends how crazy you want to get on your anti-lag settings 3-4ft is the norm though....

I would call it more of a cylinder heat ejecting beast

Thanks Wes. I will call you Monday. I did a audi and had to change the coils because of weak spark. I am looking at Motec coils now.

That there sounds like fun, almost.. What pushed me to use MoTec is I have great support from trusted guys. If Justin was on Long Island I would run a FCon too.

Not so much the coils, but if you hand over control of the ignition to the Motec (which you likely will) you'll need to wire in Ignitors just to get the coils to fire, factory coils should work just fine once you do this). It's been a while since we did our car so I don't remember all the specifics off the top of my head but have notes written down at the office.
