Battery / Generator Warning
Battery / Generator Warning
So here's the story. I left the car sitting without a battery tender for about 6 weeks. When I got back, it was reading a bit lower around 11V so I decided to take the car out for a spin. So after a spirited run down the street, I got the Battery / Generator Warning light. I assumed somehow I toasted my alternator but the weird thing is that it causes my battery reading to go up! Brought the car back to the house, hooked it up to the tender for 30 hours or so and rechecked the car. Started up just fine at 12V but after it starts I still get the same message and it causes the battery reading to go up to 16V and causes all the messages on the bottom light up! I immediately shut the car.
I'm a bit stumped. I figured if it was my alternator that went bad, It shouldn't be reading up would it!?
