Stop what you are doing and just pressure test the car ..... you don't need smoke, soap in a spray can works great. I use a an automotive stethoscope, and soapy water. I do a pressure test from turbos first then a test from the intake to make sure its all tight and back together.

It is really simple and take a few minutes once a "rig" is built. Don't throw parts at a leak . . .unless you need to.

I believe dv's. I'm not sure about n75 as I hear the boost loss and not exhaust louder. Would that be a correct assumption.

The maf could be. But I'm still hearing the boost. Car sounds like u are in a turbo Honda. U just hear it spool

I will post more tomorrow. I will figure this out. Damn it. I don't lose

Lol

I had low boost problem on stock turbo. Paid $400 for good diverters; nothing. Today installed N75 and now I can sustain .6 bar briefly upon high demand. That seems about right-right?

What would happen if I did test with N75 valve removed completely??

You should be able to sustain .7 (not spike) on a standard turbo (not an X50/S). I suspect you still have a leak and are not following advice to get it tested....so keep changing things until it goes away...LOL

See RichardCH's thread on his blown up motor. In short, his mechanics left the N75 valve unconnected (accidentally). The last thing that the ECU said before the puff of smoke was "1.6 bar, detonation in all cylinders"

So, I guess that I am recommending against this.

you need a kit.. its about $100 and shop style pressure tank .. you need to put about 20 psi... you will find everything and then some... do this instead of changing parts.. that will only create more issues..
Not wanting to high-jack this tread but..who does these (similar) tests in the San Francisco Bay area??

I did leak test this morning but was not able to build any pressure and had no idea where it was leaking out. However, was able to hold enough pressure to get oil lid to pop if removed during first minute or two. Porsche dealership said as long as I could hit .6 bar on stock 996tt not to worry about it.

THe smoke test seems ideal in terms of seeing and locating any leaks? Any thoughts?
