Dealer?

Why?

Hundreds of lowered cars here with no warnings...

I run at GT2 heights on a moton coilover...and NO issues with toe, and NO issues with camber. So you do not need dogbones automatically if you lower. Go beyond GT2 and you may have problems.

i just got back from the alignment shop, and the best they could get the rear camber, was -2.3 degrees. looks like its time for some for some adjustable upper control arms.

Yeah that's what they said to me. Then they followed with "go with the oem lowering option" then I think they refered to the x73 option. Then I got to thinking what's the difference.

It's at the dealer. To figure they would say that

Here is some pics of the rarri. Thats the motor out for its "major" service.

When I saw that bill I bought my 996tt.

Which sad enough she is in the shop right now. But I love the 996 because I don't need a 10k service every 30000 miles.

And I will add a little to this. While its at Porsche getting the "spoiler controller failure" fixed the stupid spoiler rams started leaking at the pump. But I will take this bill over the ferrari anyday.

From what I understand, if you adjust camber it throws the Toe off, which the ToeLinks offset with adjustment.

Not sure how the dogbones work, perhaps someone could chime in?

Good stuff,
On the rear you have both. Dog Bones (upper control arms two per wheel) and toe links adjacent to the lower control arm (one per wheel.) On the stock suspension there have rubber bushing and alignment eccentrics push them outward to increase camber or toe out. When you lower the rear suspension you induce both more negative camber and more toe in. These adjustments move inversely with each other. The stock eccentics do not have enough adjustment to deal with this. Hence the use of dog bones that allow significant adjustment of camber and toe links that allow significant adjustment of toe in/out. With just springs with about .75 or a drop you might get away with just toe links. All these links use heim joints instead of rubber and do not flex under load. In the picture below you can see the upper control arms on either side of the coil over. The toe link is in the lower forefront of the picture with between the sway bar and drop link. Notice the they are all threaded with locking nuts allowing a wide range of adjustment.

Can lowering cause the PSM/ABS failure light to come on intermittently?
