posted this just because the car started out like most cars on this forum and now only races, straight pipes down the mile long back straight at VIR gives you some idea of how these cars "can" sound

This was the start of the PCA enduro race at VIR this past weekend, if the above works!

What turbos? I would think any that made 850 would be too big for a track car.

Was it a stroker motor? You can see the big power come into play on that long straightaway.

 

Impressive! But also impressive were some of the other cars on the track. There was an older looking carrera in front of you for a little while that I never would have thought would be able to hang for as long as it did.

 

tom what setup are you running now ?

 

car sounds awesome, still running the 24/18G ? what are you using for diverter valves?

 

Glad to hear from you Tom. Wow, that was some good driving; your car is a track beast especially on that fast track. Love that suspensions.

car "only" has hybrid k-24's however complete intake overhaul with air filters above IC's and upgraded fuel system. funny all the stuff you here on this board about this and that. this car was legit dynoed and pulled 860 at the crank no problem. just a matter of optimizing the air and fuel. the motor will be rebuilt in 3 months after Daytona but only for strength.

as for the other cars in the race, I had a broken shock and missed qualifying and started at the back of the grid. I won the GT-1 endurance class for that race so had plenty of time to work with. also had few other "issues" with the car

BTW the diverter valve vents to the atmosphere not internally that's why the blow off sound.

the car transmission is also re-geared and why the heavy tranny whine also.

 

Nice video Tom. Thanks for posting. Your car almosts seems to have a tractor beam pulling the others back to you on the straights.

 

Looks great Tom, glad to see you out there! I just got done ordering the rest of the parts to get our beast back out to the track, seeing Daytona registration open up was quite the motivator! I'm dialing the car back to 550whp and focusing on the mid range power with tuning so I can make the most out of the cars setup and grip. Should be a blast!
