996 GT2RS? Come on, guy.
Can anyone confirm if the front is the nr auto 997 front conversion? I have no idea what the back is. I think the bumpers look good. But that badging... Can someone at least get him to straighten it up? I'd do it for him if I could lol. I have OCD about thing being straight and the badge is killing me lol.
like being with a hot chick
my take is... and one of the many reasons I bought the damn thing is... because it's a 911 Turbo. You can paint it yellow, glue tin foil to it, bolt a redonkulous spoiler on the back and/or powdercoat the wheels pink... The fact remains, and every Raging Bull, Mopar-bored, Godzilla breathing, Ferrari wussy and his high maintenance biatch knows... is never to mess with a modified Porsche Turbo.
I may stick a feesh on the back of mine.

Wow harsh crowd here... I say if he's a good dude that's well enough. let he has never "riced" cast the first stone
...I for one had an integra GSR in college in the mid to late 90's and a couple of ricey ideas albeit performance oriented ones, never followed thru with any of them (big can greddy exhaust, etc...) but was too broke as a college student to follow thru with my ricer dreams at the time hahaha
.... so the car basiculy remained stock with tinted windows and a flashy head unit & stereo.
I got into cars for the love of the cars but also to meet great people and share their journey's, enthusiasm, and stories... in fact I think it's the people that overshadow their cars in many instances, that's one of the best parts about being at the track teaching students, or at a meet or a car show....
a few weeks ago I had my GT2 at a car show, parked next to me was a red narrow body 996 C2 with chrome wheels, fender Porsche badges, cf tricked out bits, and lots of GT2 badging. His car was spotless he loved that car and took pride in it it was gleaming and glistening, he was there with his two young boys...was a super nice guy.... and generally a goodhearted fun person... sure I knew and he knew as well that his car is not a real GT2 and whatnot but I didn't bring it up...I didn't see the need to....why bring it up just to say it, sometimes less is more...my comment to him was "Nice car, looks like you put a lot of styling touches on it...and it's sparkling in the sunlight" ...that was it....

You should have kicked his fender in. ............(I'm just kidding) Your story reminds me of one time, 10+ years ago, when some kid pulled up next to my parked E36 M3. I kind of shook my head at the fact that the letter ///M puked all over his car, and started walking with my girlfriend inside to see a movie. But, then the guy shouted that he'd smoke me because of the engine work on his "M3." (Maybe he was taking the educated guess that I wouldn't race him, nor start a fight, with my girlfriend there, and his idiot buddies might believe him.) At that point, I couldn't resist but to tell him that he was probably right, as I assumed he had spent even more money on his engine than he did changing the wheels, bumpers, mirrors, steering wheel, seats, interior, and exhaust on his car, just to make it look like a stock 318is with M3 badges all over it. His friends started laughing at him, and I could see that he was getting pissed. I mentioned that I had his license plate, and if my car looked any different upon return than when I left, my buddy the cop and I were going to look up his plate, come drag him from his parents' house, and kick the $hit out of him. My car was untouched. His ego, ... not so much.

I've seen this car at Irvine Cars and Coffee. Certainly not my cup of tea, I enjoyed looking at it and respect his right to do what he wants with his car. The wrap job was rough at best, some spots were peeling up - which could have been due to age, some spots the carbon fiber weave pattern was not the in the same direction as adjacent panels - which was a real problem for me. The car did seem to draw some attention, so to each his own.
It seemed obvious the badging was not accurate to the car, which again is a no no in my book.
However, I'm very picky, when I look at cars, I often look for imperfections first, I may have some serious mental issues on top of that
