Finally Got My Front Installed

Bought the GT2 bumper from Precision last fall and took it to paint this spring and then installed it today! I still have a few things to do, but 99% there! I still need to cut out the tow hook hole and put the end of the stripe on it and a clear bra. But looks pretty good in the mean time!

I got some black powder coated mesh and took my time fitting it in over the past month or so - cut it out, bent/formed it around the openings and epoxied it in!

Thanks to Edwin at Precision for a quality product!

rjp is infamous around these parts
The bumper looks great. They mesh looks really nice. Is it a difficult DIY (molding / epoxying?) Materials expensive?

Congrats again...looks awesome!

Thanks guys!

Mesh is pretty easy to work with - I just cut it about 1/2-1" bigger all the way around and then cut some of it out carefully right around the holes. Then I bent over the left over "ears" and formed it to the inside.

I then took a rubber band and a stick (with towel to not scratch) and put the rubber band through the mesh and then around the stick so it would hold the mesh in place while I epoxied. I used quick set epoxy and it holds very strong!

Materials were around $60 from customcargrills . com and then epoxy... I already had some metal snips.

Awesome!

Which front end is it?
Is the lower portion Urethane like the stinker on the 996?

Kudos,

FBS

It's Precision Porsche front. The lip is fiberglass and came with the front. It is really low/wide and I have already scratched it up! I will keep it on until it looks like crud and then replace it with a urethane GT2 lip.
