Heat issues in trunk due to amplifiers?
Has anyone experienced any heat problems due to placing amps in the trunk? It gets HOT in Texas... Also, am I correct to assume that the trunk doesn't have any ducting for air flow?
I personally think it depends on the amps as well , the brand of the product. Some get really hot running and depending on what your running to the amps if you are in mono, stereo , doubling up wires . Try to keep it a 4 ohms on your speakers. Once you bridge the amp these get very hot . You can purchase a external fan that has a thermal overload that senses when its too hot and kicks on to cool the amp .
I have a PDX5 where the CD player was and it stays totally cool to the touch, but I'm West Coast Canada so the weather doesn't get really smokin hot anyway.
I have two amps in my trunk/bonnet and have not had any problems with them overheating. I live in South Texas and it gets above 100 degrees F pretty much 9-10 months out of the year.

Its a Diamond amp. Dont recall the model b/c its been in there for a few years, but it is a 5 channel 1000w amp and it drives everything including a sub box.
BTW, the way its mounted I have no problem accessing the spare. Which I had to do once.
